Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager Human Resources the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day HR Operations support in addition to supporting and providing labour and employee relations counsel to front line leaders across the site Field Sales Manufacturing Distribution and Warehofunctions enabling them to make informed business decisions aligned with our culture best practices and policies.

Major responsibilities will include:
-Supports front line leaders with Human Resource objectives to include appropriate policy as well as performance management guidance
-Provide counsel training and guidance to supervisors regarding the interpretation of the collective agreement (s).
-Support the grievance preparation and administration process working in conjunction with Union representatives HR Business Partners and internal business stakeholders
-Develop and maintain filing system for active grievances including management of grievance liability tracking
-Organize manage and maintain all supporting files and documentation pertaining to grievances and arbitration and employee relations matters
-Provide guidance analysis recommendations and assistance regarding open cases.
-Act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and support leaders in all elements of effective change management
-Respond to inquiries from front line leaders regarding employee performance or corrective action recommendations including performance management.
-Support and perform investigations including the preparation of findings o in accordance with applicable policy procedure and/or regulatory requirements.
-Respond to and support the resolution of employee inquiries specifically inquiries requiring escalation with employee self-service related matters.
-Administer monitor and support the attendance management program including training assessing and addressing inconsistencies across all functions.
-Support monitor and maintain KPI dashboards tracking systems and documentation as required including synthesizing and data analysis to provide key insights
Support the organization and execution of Academy learning and development programs for the location
Support the annual performance review and compensation planning cycle

What you will need to succeed in this role

-Strong critical thinking problem solving and conflict resolution skills
-Ability to interact with all levels of employees and management
-Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources Practices labour relations employment law and recruitment
-Strong understanding of Employment Standards Occupational Health and Safety and Workplace Safety Acts and Regulations
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Qualifications:
-Completed a University degree in Business with a focus in Human Resources
-Minimum three (3) years experience as an HR generalist with minimum one (1) years with direct labour relations experience.
-Experience in consumer-packaged goods manufacturing environments is preferred
-Proven ability to work closely with leaders to support the resolution of employee issues in a fast-paced environment
-Customer focused with proven relationship building strengths
-Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-change fasted paced environment
-Proven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influence
-Demonstrated ability to invite diverse perspectives promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity
-Accomplished team-builder skilled at inspiring motivating and developing people
-HR data analytics experience is an asset.
